The global pandemic that has affected all of us is an unprecedented event. Last year reminded us of the significant role of science, including medicine and biotechnology, and proved the dynamic pace in which these areas of knowledge are developing. The hard work of scientists and medical personnel has contributed to the systematic growth of our knowledge of the SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 virus, and recently vaccines have become available to counter the spread of the new pathogen.

There are many representatives of the Medical University of Gdańsk among the experts involved in the research related to this topic, including prof.
