Arterial hypertension is a serious health problem which affects 12 million people in Poland alone. It is the leading cause of stroke and one of the leading causes of heart attack and heart failure. The employees of the Department of Hypertension and Diabetology at the Medical University of Gdańsk, Prof. Krzysztof Narkiewicz, Marzena Chrostowska, PhD, Jacek Wolf PhD and Michał Hoffmann, PhD are involved in a number of scientific and clinical initiatives to improve the diagnostic and therapeutic process and to effectively prevent complications of hypertension.
